Funding routes in Japan
MEXT, JASSO, local bodies and institutions publish separate scholarship and fee-reduction routes. Selection can occur before arrival or after enrolment, and coverage should never be assumed from admission alone.

An award may cover all or part of tuition and may not include living costs, travel, insurance or residence fees.
